You just never know.....

Yesterday I got to the barn and my older horse, Larry, had cut his eye.  So we had the vet come out.  Ended up the eyeball is fine, but needed to put a staple in and around the eye lid.  Silly guy, got a little too upset with feed bucket and broke the metal part which must have flown back into his face and cut his eye.  Needless to say, I bought him a new feed dish for on the ground.  He can do whatever he wants with that one, it won't be cutting him.

I had a fantastic ride on my young horse, Pipi.  With a young horse I have learned there are good days and bad days and most of the time the bad out weights the good.  However, when you have a good day.... it is awesome.  And yesterday was.  I needed a good ride.

Sometimes when I have a bad day, or even just a so so day..... riding can make all the difference.  And just a walk down the road can be the cure.  It is my vice.  Definitely promotes well being.  At least for me.  Some people just don't get it.  I feel sad for them.  It is next to Godliness.

Well, I have feedings today.  So......until tomorrow!

Riding

Well I am off to take a lesson with my trainer Dee Dee Kramer.  She will ride my young, 5 year old, and I will work with the older guy, who is 21.  We do dressage, or at least we try.  I fell in love with the sport about 10 years ago and that is when I actually started riding.  I got started at a late age.  Most horse people have rode since they were kids, however, I started in my 30's.  I am now hooked.

I moved to California from Maryland about 3 years ago.  Went through a horrid divorce.  Decided I needed a change.  Sold most of my belongings and move 2 dogs, a horse and my self across the country.  I met a wonderful guy.  Actually, I had worked with him for years, but never met face to face.  Needless to say, there is life after divorce!!!!  I am living it.

Must run, talk soon.

Well, the vet check did not go well.  My dream horse has a rotated coffin bone in right front.  It is a new and very unexpected situation.  I feel so bad for the owner.  I feel bad for me.  She, Maggie the horse, was such a good match.  I am heartbroken.

Getting Started

This is my first blog.  I am a owner of 2 horses and soon (I hope) a third one.  She is an awesome dressage mare and I hope she passes the vet check tomorrow am.

I love horses.  I got into this late in life and I have now been riding for about 10 years.  The past 3 have been serious with a trainer.  I love dressage.  It is my passion.  But anything horsey makes me happy.

I started making jewelry earlier this year and I wanted something with an equestrian edge but classic.  Pearls, black onxy, vintage pieces..... are just a few of the things I like.  I am hoping to maybe promote my pieces on this blog.

Let me know what you think!!!
